I just had a vortech v3 installed, He used a black magic fan with no shroud. I run about 180 driving down road 210 or 220 in traffic. I ordered a 160 thermostat is there any way I can get a gt500 fan in there clearance is a issue. Please help.

Changing out your thermostat won't do a thing No matter what temp you put in there they are all open at temp. Why did you remove the original fan shroud? I thought the Vortech fit in there without removing it. You need a shroud either way. You might try an electric pump. It pumps full force when at idle or in slow traffic unlike the mechanical that flows less when you slow down.

No, you need a shroud around the fan sealing it to the radiator. Otherwise the fan just blows air around instead of through the radiator.

While there are a variety of reasons your Ford Mustang is overheating, the most common 3 are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat.
