I’ll post pictures of it later today. This was my grandfathers car that has sat for the past 2.5 years until a few weeks ago when my dad finally got it.

Plans right now are new drivetrain, fix the rust issues, shelby hood scoop, fender flares, new suspension/brakes, new wheels, finish the interior, and paint.

Heres the unfinished interior. I was told my grandfather cut the carpet because he believed the cowl was still leaking.

Now on to the rust problems. The passenger side quarter is similar to the drivers side on the bottom but you can't tell because of the bondo they used to cover it up.

Got in the metal gt350 hood scoop today. Looking forward to welding it in place and seeing how it looks then.

Went to a local car show and snagged a couple trash fenders last weekend. Testing out one idea for our fender flares but I think we will end up ordering a set of flares and making them fit. This flare was ~1" wider than stock, used the level to show the difference.

Removed the hood letters, fender emblems, and rocker panel trim today. Plan on welding up all of the holes on Thursday while I'm off work. Fender flares were also ordered so hope to get started on that next week.

Also while working on the rear valence last week I found some more rust that I wasn't aware of. But thankfully I already have patches for the quarters, just need to order or make the patch for under the tail light panel.

Got the front end taken apart and started preparing to weld up all of the trim and emblem holes. Found the whole front section of the hood had bondo but I'm guessing it was for a couple small flat spots I found.

Started on the flares this week, got one of the front flares tacked in place. Also ordered a 17x9.5 wheel that I hope to use on the rear.

Here is the front flare. Still need to trim it to the right size but overall we are happy with how it will look. Front will be about 1” wider than stock and the rear may be around 2” just depends on how this wheel fits.

Ordered a wheel that my dad will hopefully like. It was the only five spoke in grey that I could find wide enough to make the rear flares look right. Most 5x4.5 wheels for these cars stop at 8" but I was able to find this one which is 17x9.5". Plan to use a 275/40R17 rear tire to help fill it out as well.

Down the side of the car.

Finally got a rear tire in, had to just order a new one since people never would get back to me about a used one. I can't wait to see how it looks with the flares done, going to look pretty damn good.

Old tire is a 205 and new one is a 275.

Rear flare is tacked in place. It follows the factory lip as much as possible, only thing I have that somewhat bothers me is the front of the flare is maybe 1/2" farther away from the tire than the rear. So I'll probably move it slightly to get rid of that.

No turning back now, the cuts have been made and the first rear flare is almost completely tacked in place.

The new wheels and fender flares completely change the look of the car. I knew they would but seeing one side partially put together has surprised me how much it really changed it.

The front flare has not been trimmed yet so it hangs lower than it will eventually be.

Started trimming the front flare tonight. I have a feeling getting this arch smooth is going to take a lot of time and patience.
