Depends on how much power you want to make. The 8.8 is stronger out of the box and has more support but the 7.5 isn’t weak either.
2.3 5 lug
So iv been looking into doing a 5 lug 31 spline swap. Will everything work perfectly still running the 7.5 rear end or will i need to swap to an 8.8 ?

Don't think the 7.5 has a 31 spline carrier.
I have a 31 spline with 8.8 Rear low 7’s at the 1/8 mile
