2011 Mustang GT 5.0 !!!

The 2011 Mustang GT is getting the 5.0 Treatment!!!. The new 5.0 is just like the old 5.0 -- 302 cubic inches or 4.9-liters or 4,951cc.

Adding the 32-valves and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing(Ti-VCT), the new 5.0 produces an impressive 412 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. No word on performance times, but we can expect a 4.5-4.7 second 0-60 sprint and a quarter-mile in the high 12s. At least. Especially as the current Mustang GT (315-hp, 320 lb-ft of torque) hits 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and runs the quarter in 13.5. Oh, according to Ford, the new 5.0 weighs just 10 pounds more than the outgoing GT!

Oh: more importantly, the redline climbs from 6,500 to 7,000 rpm.

Awesome.:D

Also new for 2011 Mustang is a choice of either a new six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. Together with that variable cam technology (Ti-VCT) and "EPAS" (Ford's electronic power steering), a Mustang GTwith an automatic transmission will be able to achieve 25 mpg on the highway. That's up from 23 mpg for the current Mustang GT with an auto 'box. Both the 2010 and 2011 get 17 mpg in the city, while the six-speed manual Mustang gets 24 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg city.

I honestly love how FORD is increasing the HP ratings for the Mustangs as the years go by!

But I have a question: How High can we go?

thank god they canceled my order for the 2010 and then put me in the 2011 same price.

cause this car is going to be bad ass . and you just add a good tune to it and just imagine! so excited
They dont even start production till Spring and the price is not even set so how is that possible.
bro its called military sales.. and yea the car wont be delivered till this summer mid july! im in afghanistan right now so the car is built to order for us over here. come to war and you too can get this deal!! or not and dont lol
well my sales guy told me to cross my fingers . so we shall see.
just got word on my new buyers offer but they still had the 4.6 as a 2011 model. i told them no f**king way. then i told them to put the brembo package and it better say 5.0 V8 before i sign anything! along with all the other options that i had before of course.

correction they do not offer the 4.6 any more with the GT model. its either the 3.7 V6 or the 5.0 V8. So i will be getting the 2011 at the price of the 2010. its called uplift and cause they ran out of 2010 models to build for 2010 they have to put me into a 2011 for the same price. and just for shits and giggles the discounts are way less than before but they will go up before they end up finalizing the complete deal so my price will go back down from 34,880.
i agree, if the 5.0 is available why would you settle for the 4.6. thats like taking the v6 over the v8 lol. i mean unless your gonna S/C or turbo the 4.6 right away!
im not sure that will ever happen , speacially with the way our governments are going green! if anything it will be electric cars that get there first
