2V to 4V

So I am not too sure about these motors. I know that 4v are better then 2v. im planning on doing a kb'd 4v. and i was wondering what it would take to turn my engine into a 4v? i know that i'll need new headers and kb replace the intake. and i'm gonna forge the bottom. rough estimate of power will be 700. at the most. maybe a little nitrous we'll see. I'm thinking 03-04 heads.

I'm just planning for the future.

If you want to get technical you are bashing TF far more than I am. I am saying that TF did the best that can be done for the 2V head. You are saying they didn't.
Even they say they can be made better. So..
BTW here is a 103 page thread you can start reading. :) I read it all a few weeks back

Get in Line! Trick Flow 2v heads coming! - ModularFords.com
BTW here's a whole forum you can read.

Someone asked if there was any room for improvement in that thread. Here is the answer

I'm sure there is. Some playing needs to be done. Trickflow hasn't even tried to port them yet. Obviously you can only flow so much air through 1 valve at a certain size, but I'm sure there are improvements to be made.

The think most exciting about this head is it out performs any ported PI head, is a direct bolt-on, moves the exhaust valve for better clearance and it's from a top notch company! Definitely going to wake up the 2v market.

As for dyno numbers, and don't quote me on this, I don't know all the details. But I'm pretty sure the test car made 360-370 RWHP with these heads and comp 270's. Not sure what else was on the car (exhaust, intake etc). To put that into perspective, my own car was one of the most power stock shortblock cars ever at 330 rwhp. And I had ported PIs, bullet intake, long tubes, underdrives and electric water pump.

So mine was maxed out powerwise with all the supporting mods and I made 330 once on the dyno and went 11.7 in VERY good air. So 370 rwhp with the same cams really speaks volumes for these heads. Please don't take those as official numbers as I don't have all the details but I'm pretty sure that is accurate.

Ok buy these heads and go get them ported and see what kind of gains over their original design you get...
And does anyone even port 4vs?

Why would I want to? They already give me 4v power the way they are. With these bolted on, it makes a 2v faster than a 03/04 Mach1 :D

I can't wait to see their FI heads.

With these heads, the 2v crowd can now finally take on stock to barely modded Fbodies N/A :D

Same air flow as a 4v, but as light as a 2v.

Oh I didnt realize that they were going to be able to outperform a worked over 4V with the playing that needs to be done....

DUDE! seriously. Yes they are excellent 2V's however...

"think I'm going with Fox Lake 3V heads (flowing 272)" -taken from your bible, err, thread
"I will admit though the 3v motors really seem to be getting it done... In most milder applications i think 3v is the best way to go... But in the more extreme setups, you just cant beat the flow and capability of a 4v motor, esspecially when you are talkin about bigger displacement ones."

This was said by a guy with a 4.6 2V that ran an 11 with no 3rd gear... (blew it out at the track and ran it anyways.)
And does anyone even port 4vs?
Ummm.....Yeah :shiftyeyes

Who needs to do their homework???
Why not? You'll have heads LIGHTER than a 4v while flowing the SAME AMOUNT OF AIR. That's an advantage.
Thats why I have 3V's:cool: along with the aluminum block
It seems like the only people who get exited over these heads are the N/A guys. Have fun with that, I will change the pulley and swap the tune to produce those gains.
I've got an awesome idea. lets not ever have another 2v vs 4v thread...

+1 :yes
Oh I did my homework. And I figured out this math problem in ****ing grade school.

2 < 4....

Turns out I got an A+
I dont know how you can do your homework when theres only a handful of these heads out and no one knows what cams profiles work best. These things are brand new and theres still alot to learn about them. Maybe they will be better than the 4vs maybe they wont, but anyone saying thay wont at this stage is jumping the gun.
guys. make your own thread. I found all my questions in the book

Well if your questions are already answered, then whats the problem with letting these guys continue with whatever they are discussing instead of making another thread over the same thing? :dunno
