they are built pretty tough actually but im not 100% sure. but i know my neighbor has a f150 with the same tranny and he beats the piss outta that think i always hear him slamming it into gear and smoking up the tires every morning. and i swear he should have dropped that bitch on the road by now this is the second year he as been doing this almost every day im home lol
Not to mention with the torque multiplication a steeper gear gives it can actually help reduce engine wear and increase fuel millage ion certain driving conditions because it takes the engine less work to get to and maintain that rpm. so yes IMO disregard SSS's opinion on not using it as a DD. if he takes care of his engine and Fuel cost is not an issue. then it will be 100% fine as a DD.
No way will 4.56 see better gas mileage. That detail has been thrown out when comparing stock ratio's to 4.10's. I don't think you'll see any mpg gains under any circumstances with 4.56's (nor with 4.30's and 4.10's are pushing it). There's just too much rpm at all times to bother with mpg.
