I have a 99 mustang GT (Windsor) that I’d like to put 4v heads on. I’ve read people say that it drops the compression low so I was just wondering what pistons I could use to keep my compression “normal”. Should I use cobra rods with ford lightning pistons, cobra pistons, or NPI pistons? And what would the compression ratio be for each one? Plan on doing stock Windsor block, C heads, 4v timing cover, cobra rods, and either cobra, Lightning, or NPI pistons.

I would research the difference in the combustion chamber size between the 99 2v and the ?? 4v heads.
That should at least get you started on the right track.
the only way the ?? 4v heads would lower the compression is if the ?? 4v combustion chamber is significantly larger than your 99 2v combustion chamber.
What is your plan for an intake manifold?

Okay that makes sense. I have a ported Reichard Racing intake manifold that I run on the car now, but I have 4v adapter plates so I can run it on the 4v heads. And and I didn’t mention that I am planing on using 2004 heads that way I don’t have to deal with the head tick noise.
