So the motor in my old 68 was puffin' smoke and I didn't like that ...so I decided to pull it along with the C4 and replace it with some newerish parts
I'll let the pictures explain it.

Heres the bay with the engine and tranny out of it...

Heres my old Motor and tranny...

Heres the new shortblock

Here is the new motor mated to the tranny

Here's how it looked after I just got the motor tranny in and then a little progress...

Last but not least ...the car it's going in

That looks good dude!! We did something very similar to this a couple months ago with a 66' mustang coupe..

He went with a 347 with Jay Allen cam and heads.. These are fun cars to work with.. I dont know if yours handled as bad as this one did, but if it does i would definately recommend the front end replacement.. This kit makes these cars handle GREAT!! He can out corner the **** out of a fox body now..

Eh ...Nothing crazy

-.020 over hyper pistons ...everything was balanced and checked and all the good stuff
- ARP rod bolts
- ARP main studs
- XE270HR-14 roller cam
- Ford Racing X307 heads
- Edelbrock Performer RPM II intake
- Accufab 70mm T-body
- 24 lb injectors with a matched Pro-M meter
- A3M1 computer

- Tranny is a Performance automatic AOD with a 2500 stall non lock up converter
The car itself has a 9 inch rear with a 3.70 gear set and detroit locker
All wheel power disc brakes
I'll get more pics of the car this weekend and more pics of my progress

I'm hoping this thing will have some pep to it ...the title says the car weighs 2800 pounds but that was with the original straight six/c4/7.5in rear end so I'm sure it's more like 3200 pounds with everything I've dropped into it

So ...I hate headers. Here is the passenger side one that went on today

Drivers side was a little more difficult I had to take the valve cover off to squeeze that one in there

Here is today's total progress...
