Aero catch hood latch

Hey all, new guy.
Bought a set to replace the old style pins and found my aftermarket hood is about two inches thick. How do you go about installing them? Cut out the underside? Get longer bolts? Thanks for the help and let me know if I'm just over thinking it.

When I installed them on my 01 Cobra with 95 Cobra R hood, I split the lower side part of the frame in half so I could slide it in and just cut a hole on the lower side for the post and not have to open it up all the way in the shape of the latch. It is a PITA and tedious, but well worth it.

Thank you Timin Toledo, I was thinking about trying something like that also.
