so i've been looking around and i cant seem to find a straight answer to my question. Do my pistons have to be notched with AFR 185 heads? Other mods are as follows:
bbk cai
bbk headers (shorties)
typhoon upper and lower intake
65mm tb
x pipe
3.73's
b cam
Don't know if this will help in my search but i feel that the more info i give you the better. My car is a 92 gt 5.0 and is automatic. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've heard of guys doin it themselves but I haven't ever done it. First off tear it apart and check ptv

It's pretty easy, and it can be done without tearing down the bottom end. It's been probably 13-14 years ago, but I got it done for $50.

Piston to Valve clearance. You should be able to google it. & yes you will probably have to on a stock short block with AFR 185's!

I bought the tool from this company: http://www.lindytools.com/ It's fairly easy to use & will cost you far less than having someone do it for you. You can do it with engine in car, just go slow & double, triple check everything.

the heads will be fine be worried about the rods pistons on anything over 150 and a ok tune

Just vacuum them up, its just the combustion chamber!

Are you talking about pushrods? if so what brand would you recommend? But i dont see myself going over a 100 shot

You'll be fine on spray.

The whole bottom end is the weak point in these motors...

If your tune up for nitrous is good, you can spray a 200 shot no problem. Just gotta worry about splitting the block and/or breaking driveline parts.

You should be in the lower 12s or high 11s with your setup depending on weight/gear.

No connecting rods, with a good tune don't worry about it

Im taking it to a specialist on saturday. This guy is suppose to be a mustang wiz. He has mustangs in his shop all the time and i never see the same one there very long. i hope he is as good as everyone says
