Found lightly used fti cam ground for afr165 and my supporting mods. Duration @ .050 222/232 with 563/565 lift on 110 lsa. Will i have any issues with this head cam combo and stock pistons? And please dont say check p/v clearance because i havent bought cam yet. I will eventually check to be safe but would like to know before i buy. I dont want to notch pistons. Cam owner couldnt answer question he had shop build everything for him. Ive only assembled the stock components and have no experience with changing around the valvetrain...thanks

im gonna go out on a limb here and so no...suposedly the most lift you can use with stock heads and pistons is around .444" lift, soo with afr heads with bigger valves and a bigger than .444" lift cam i wouldnt think it would work

man its not lift its valve timing that causes the pistons to hit the valves
It does play into it. It's just not the only factor. The higher the lift the more chance you have of floating a valve. That is where the problems lie also. lift, duration, LSA, inproper degree. Those are PTV clearance things to watch on the cam. Then you have to look at Pistons, deck, head gasket, heads, valvesprings..... All of these can cause a piston to kiss a valve.
