I'm getting ready to to a fluid change on my 4R70W and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with aftermarket aluminum transmission pans for these trannys or if it's just a waste of money? I like the idea of increased capacity and the potential for keeping tranny temps cooler but am concerned about ground clearance. My car is lowered but not slammed.

heres my B&M trans pan, definitely alot taller than stock, not the best pic but this should give you a general idea

my mods are:
ford truck/van trans-cooler
B&M trans pan
3200 midwest torque converter
J-modded valve body (which i would suggest doing if your changing pans)

no temp gauge, so i couldnt tell you how much it cooled the trans down from normal operating temp or under heavy load.....plus i did mostly everything at once from stock
