I have been trying to get rid of this squeaky dashboard problem for the longest time, but I don't know how to remove the top part of the dash. The rattle is coming from where the vin number is located at the far left hand side. The pillar post rattles a little bit, It was purchased from Speed of Sound but I think the dashboard is the main problem. Some people have been saying there is some foam to put under there, and one guy used some cardboard and that solved the problem. I tried to email him but I got no response. I have already fixed one rattle, which is the driver and passenger mirrors.

Well Brianm I found the TSB for this problem. TSB 08-24-10. I found a good write up on teamshelby.com. You have to order part number 7R3Z6321702A which is tape on velcro and is about $10.00 each. The guy that I got all this info from stated that Ford already had one piece of velcro on but the rattling still continued so they added another pieceof velcro. This TSB 08-24-10 is not on the TSB list on this forum????? I thought about just taking in to the Ford dealership but with my luck they probably would make another rattle!!!!! $20.00 for tape and velcro. They charge $30.00 for a stock spark plug.

Carsmart28 this is what you need to do to fix the rattling in the mirror assembly.

1. you need to adjust the mirror all the way over to the left or the right, which ever
mirror you are fixing.

2. Next take off the plastic trim piece where you adjust the mirror from the inside off.
This piece will come off with a little pressure or you can use a small flat head
screwdriver. Unplug the connector and put the plastic piece in a safe place.

3. Take off the three nuts using a 11mm socket, and remove the connector from the
other side, now the mirror assembly can be removed.

4. Now you will be looking at the mirror, which the mirror should be all the way to the
left or all the way to the right. You will see how the mirror is attached to the
power window assembly inside. Using your hands you will be able to remove the
mirror from the power window assembly.

5. Once you get the mirror off, you will see three torx screws that you need to
remove. These hold the power window assembly in place. Once the three
torx screws are out and you set the power window assembly down you
will be looking at a lone torx screw. This is the one you will need to tighten.
I put some blue lock thred on mine and that fixed the problem. Then just put
everything back together. Have a Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
