no there are real shift kits.

autos for street or track either way. U can manual valve body a auto and leave it fully auto(cant have both) but option are there.

I don't understand why people say they are more fun when I have a blast in my auto. :dunno

I figure why work harder for the same times and why put human mistake into the mis when u dont have to?

Not to thread jack so PM me if neccessary, but I have an auto and have been unsatisfied from purchase on because id love to shift on my own and get that extra mpg or 2.

How did you manage a swap for 900? did you do the work yourself? whats involved. I can get a tranny and the equipment/ parts, but what all work is there to be done to make the swap?

I didnt think there was a "real" shift kit for the 4r70w...thought the most done for the 99-03 (done from factory in 04) was to do the j-mod. Then set the shift firmness through a tune.
Silly Dude, J-Mods are for kids.

When i went auto i sold my Tremec T-45 for $350 and Gave the guy a stock shifter the steeda clutch cable, steeda quadrant,5 speed pedals,5 speed boot, shifter ball, and drive shaft for $50,So for $400 this guy got Everything he needed to go 5 Speed,Not including a Flywheel or Clutch but they can be had for a Reasonable price. So it can be done for under $900 if you shop for the parts and take your time looking for the stuff.

Edit: Only thing i hated about shifting was pushing in the clutch over and over and over again in traffic. And i really miss shifting so im really considering going to a full manual valve body so i have to shift it all the time.So you still get the fun of shifting it into gear and down shifting, but no chance to miss a gear.

I bought a totaled 2003 GT for $1500 parted some things out for $600 before I had to move. I gave the rest to my buddy to finnish parting it out and he is going to send me half once it is done. So it will actualy be less than 900. Did the work myself, not verry hard

Well, a build auto would be ideal for road racing as well. Not as fun though
Not really, using the transmission to slow down is a major part of road racing. You can't heel/toe the auto so even "manually" downshifting would get your back tires bouncing from not matching the rpms.
