So when I gettin on the gas at higher rpm's (below red line ) as i shift there is a phat back fire.... i think its a back fire.... even when I get on it soft, after i shift it has a quieter back fireing sound.... i used to have a problem where it didnt idle right when first started up in the day so i turned down the timeing, to where it got a smoother idle... also when i have it in neutral and then come to a stop, it idles above 1k when i am above 15mph then drops down to 700 or 800 below 15..... still.. it idles amazingly smooth.... but any help would be appreciated... THANKS!!!

for the idle issue, sounds like the speed sensor.

the the back firing, you are probably burning rich, or you could have a clog in your exhaust system, causing the gas fumes to build up.
