Hey Guys - I recently picked up an unmolested, absolutely cherry New Edge. This is my 5th Mustang (96 GT, 99GT, 2011GT, 98 GT) and I am going back to my 2V roots. Super excited to have the simplicity and fun of a New Edge again!

Welcome back! I feel it would be hard to come back after having a coyote....unless you planned on coyote swapping or at least slapping some boost on to it though
No, going to keep it NA. And yes, the long term plan will be a Coyote swap - although Im not sure it will be in this car or if I'll pick up a more ratted out one for the swap.

But my belief is that its more fun to drive a slow car fast then it is to drive a fast car slow.

That's a nice ride right there.

Welcome to the forum.

I hear you on the "driving a slow car fast =fun" comment. A few years back I went up to BIR and was able to drive a few buddies cars around the track up there. One was a 12 vette and the other was an older 350z with some things done to it. The vette was cool but I couldn't push it to far without getting a bit uncomfortable. The 350z was an absolute blast and I could have tracked it all day long.

I wish I would have set my car up more for road track but tires are just so dang expensive and we went through 2 sets on the 350z in 2 days.

Wow, I feel like it's nigh impossible to find an untouched/not-ruined New Edge these days. I check on Craigslist time-to-time for curiosity sake and like 95% of them are trash.

You got one hell of a pick-up there! Congratulations, I'm envious.

Thanks. Yeah, I scoured CL for about a year and found this one on Cars.com or Autotrader. I did overpay for it a bit, but like you said, finding and unmolested one is hard.

For sure man. I've already accepted that when the day comes that I seek out another 99-04, I'll have to just accept a higher-than-normal price and probably fly across the country to find it. Depending on what you're going for, that can totally be worth it though.

Nice pick up!
I see a lot of them on the road around here, not many stock.
If I found one I'd just do the trick flow top end kit and some suspension work and be happy with a low 12 sec. street car.

Nice ride! I have an 01 Bullitt myself and love the 2V SOHC Motors. I would love to put a Trick Flow top end kits on it with a Tremec TKO600 and 3.73's in it. It's stock right now and only has 7600 original miles on it. I'm the original owner of it. When I bought it from the dealership it had 22 miles on it. I love the New Edge Stangs!!!

Perfect! Dont mess with the Bullitt - keep it stock and low mile. In 20 years, aside from Terminators, the Bullits are going to be prized cars.

Post some photos of the Bullitt please.

I was about to disagree with the slow/fast car thing but that is a pretty good point. I have way more fun going 30mph in my little go karts than I ever do driving my mustang or any other performance car I have owned.

good to see others sharing my same feeling. Just picked up an all original triple black 5 spd 01 convertible with get this if you can believe it only 22k miles. She has a lot of the expected issue with things like rubber seals and apparently for a time it was a mouse den in the trunk but over all the car runs great. Sorry didn't mean to thread jack but still congrats on your return to the New edge.

A couple of years ago I almost bought a completely stock low mileage 2004 Mach 1 and my plans for the car would have been to keep it completely stock. At the same time I was looking at a modified 1968 Dodge Dart. By the time I made up my mind the Mach 1 was gone. Probably a good thing. I already had my 2000 GT and my garage is full.
