have any of you ever heard of putting a differential in the oven to get it clean of all of the fluids?

me neither. that sounds kinda weird. dont know if "baking" it would get rid of the excess liquids. sounds like it would "bake" them on.

i was just reading on a rock crawling forum and someone said to bake the fluids off... i dunno...

you bake it to heat up the fluids so they can be cleaned off easier. wouldnt do it to something that large, but I have done it to many smaller parts. not to hot, maybe 150-200 or so... with some more porus metals this allows the fluids to heat, get thinner and flow out of the pores easier.
