Ok I'm gettin the sct this weekend and was wondering sence I have cams ect. Will I have to keep it on the custom tune all the time to make it run right? Cuz it spudders and don't wana idle right...
sct sf3...basically the same thing as the xcal 3 lol

I'm goin to a local shop to get a custom tune put on it I think he said he uses the xcal 3 but not sure jus don't know if I'll have to run it on a custom tune allways or if I can put it on economy or another tune and expect it to run right??
chances are your gonna have to run it on the custom tune always...being that you have cams.
That is what I'm thinking too o well least it'll run right
I bought a Xcal2 used from my tuner about 2 years ago and has worked great.
where are you getting it tuned @. i live in burleson and know of a couple of good tuners.

I'm taking it to gearheads, enless you know any one that knows how to tune my tweecer?? Or do you know any one cheaper than gearheads they told me $359 for the sct and "around" $150 to put a custom tune on it
gearheads is a real good place to get a tune. i can also suggest josh at JKS Performance in mansfield, i don't know if he can do anything with your Tweecer. what kind of times you running?

Have no clue yet I wana get it tuned before I run it one of these Sundays we need to go out to Kennadale I gota couple of buddys that'll go
definatly, just let me know. i've got a few that'll go also. I'm upping my shot and getting travis to tune mine also (christmas i hope). i've got a diablo and he says he can extract a lot of power with those.
Jks told me the would put a 4 posistion chip (sct) and tune it for $550, gear heads told me they could do a programer, either diablo or sct, and tune it for $510 and they told me a 4 position chip is out dated for my car?? Any ideas??are they jus bein lazy or is it just realy beter to get a programer?
THanks for all the help by the way!!!
im a big fan of SCT's software and handheld products. very user friendly. I have the Livewire and absolutely love it. if your not into the extra little gizmos and gadgets id save your money and get an Xcal3. If you are into the gizmos then they also have a new SCT touch screen unit that mounts to your dash/windshield that you might wanna check out. costs over $1k though. i think that money could be better spent elsewhere...
i don't know about the outdated part, i don't see how a fine tuned chip is outdated. one nice feature about the 4 bank chip is you can store multiple tunes and switch on the fly. that's handy if you have a street tune and a nasty race/nitrous tune. when needed switch tunes, arm nitrous and kick ass all on the fly when done flip tunes back and have a smooth running street car. the handheld however you can go in and tweak stuff, most importantly read and clear trouble codes.

I think I'm goin with the programer cuz both shops told me the key has to be off to switch the dial on a chip... I thought they were switch on the fly but I like to be able to check my own codes tweak my own stuff to so the programer I think is gona fit me beter!

you CAN switch on the fly. the handheld requires you to turn the car off. unless your gonna be running big nitrous then you have no need for the chip.
i've got a hand held and love it for those features. about the switch chip, they are on the fly, from personal experience. i'm shocked josh would tell you other' that was one of his selling points on it. it's key off for handheld' again from personal experience. either way good luck with it every hp counts
