can i do it with just hand tools or do i need a compressor.. i have springs too
If you mean an air compressor, you'd only need it for the crank bolt. Everything else all you need is hand tools and possibility the ford valve spring compressor unless you plan on having a really hard time :p And you definitely want to degree the cams!

Yeah I meant air compressor. Can I just rent the spring compressor tool at Autozone or is there a special one? Where can I get a degree kit? How much of a power gain should I see with these?

you will also need the air compressor to hold valves up when you change springs.when I did my springs, I removed the cams and reinstalled the caps then used the otc tool with a piece of 1" alum. pipe cut just a little longer than cams. waaaay easier! plus you don't cut the **** out of your knuckles on the cam lobes, them are sharp!

you can break the crank bolt loose with out an air compressor, put a breaker bar and a cheater bar on the nut, then bump the starter, will loosen it. Cheap poor man with no compressor way of gettin those undone

okay thanks that's what I was looking for.. what about degreeing them? I need to buy some gears for them
Summit you can order the degree kit from, get a dial indicator extension and you don't need new cam gears you can file the stock keyway and shift the cam around till you get the intake centerline

As for the air compressor to hold the valve up, I believe you could rotate the engine till the piston is all the way up the cylinder and have enough room to slip the retainer clips on...
