I'm doing my research on the powerplant for my 67 coupe and I'm torn between a turnkey crate engine from Proformance or Engine Factory vs. buying the Boss 302 (actually a 306) from FRPP and piecing together the intake, distributor, carb, accessories. In the long run, do you save any money going with the FRPP "crate engine" as compared a ready to drop in "turnkey engine". Right now it looks like about $7K for a turnkey 302 and the FRPP "crate engine" goes for $3800. What other trade-offs am I missing out on?
