What lift are the stock springs good to? *Not thread jacking*
Cristan
Cam Specs & Effects, duration centerline separation and lift, more on pereformance engine parts

And Greenypoo They're only good til about .480

60 bucks is cheap insurance for new LS1 springs that are good for .570 and you can use the stock retainers and keepers. Don't even have to switch to roller rockers.

Don't be a Jew and save yourself a blown motor.

Yes but if you have LTs and no cats your car will be LOUD!!!! I toasted my old motor that was cammed in my car and I have LT's hi flow cats, and mufflers and the car used to be pretty fricken loud. No with no aftermarket cam the car is quiet!!!

They make the vehicle much louder due to much more exhaust flow and more HP.

I would look at getting a decent cam for all around. Because a smaller cam will give decent gains and good driveability. And then if you want to add a power adder later you can.

I personally have the comp max street strip cam it is 218 int and 226 exh with a .500" lift on both intake and exhaust. It has a 112 LSA. It is a decent cam if you like a rough idle. It has lots of overlap in it and idles rough. It worked great for DD and I even had no problems starting the car in -30 temps in the winter with it. You could go smaller than that if you want. It is up to your goals with the car.

EDIT: since you don't want an agressive one I would go with like a 212 or so on the intake and 218 on exhaust somewhere in there with a 112-114 LSA.

Go with the comp max street strip 218 226 cam. My exhaust was loud with that. The car turned lots of heads when it was idling or just under 1500 rpms sounded awesome!!!

It did. To me it sounded good. It did not idle so rough that the car barely wanted to run but it idled good. It had a good lope to it and a choppy idle.

And I did not get a dyno tune. I got a email tune with some datalogs.

Exhaust plays a big part in smoothness. An x pipe will give the smoothest idle sound. Where divorced or true duals with no midpipe will give the roughest. That is what I have on my car is divorced duals with LTs, hi flow cats, and mufflers. I had LTs, divorced duals with no cats and it was obnoxious and raspy and very very loud!!!!! But my favorite setup was my LTs and that was it sounded sweet shook the crap out of the floor boards of the car when idling and driving and you could hear me coming from a mile away. Maybe not a mile but it was very loud.

There are lots of places that do mail order tunes such as the one ^ or else VMP, or else Trick tuners.

I personally have dealt with Trick tuners and have had great luck and they have been very helpful and very fast response.
