so my check engine light came on yesterday and came up as a vacuum leak i just want the damn light off, and also i cant find were the vacuum leak is coming from any suggestions on what to do? thank you and its an 02 GT.
First thing would be to check all of your vacuum and PCV lines in the engine bay for cracks or holes.
The proper method to check for a vac leak is to perform a smoke test, though the DIY method would be to spray some carb cleaner around the plenum, vacuum lines, etc. with the engine running. Whenever the engine stumbles, you'll have located the vac leak.
i checked all that i can find and even sprayed some starting fluid around but nothing, but it came up as a evap code i also heard those are common for 4.6s and messed with my gas cap so i turned off the engine light and it hasent came back up so im hoping it stays that way and thankyou.
