I need some help here.
I have a 91 5.0LX mustang with some minor upgrades
like headers, exhuast and cold air intake. I was thinking about
putting a chip in it but i don't really know anything about
chips so if anyone could help me out that would
be awesome.

If it runs strong, you don't need it. The only way you will gain anything is if you take it to a dyno that can burn a custom chip for your car based on dyno runs.

Old out dated chips, usually up the timing and lean the WOT a bit thats it. Like Ryans88gt said get a custom one, but waiting till you have a dedicated build-up then tuning is the best idea.
