so every gear in my buddies s10 rattles at like 3500 rpm but when i let off put it in neutral or push in the clutch it goes away anyone know what this is i think tranny or clutch

could be the driveshaft... and it only does it when there is force applied to it..

well it is kind of like a chatter it doesnt feel lke the driveshaft and isnt the driveshaft still spinning when its in neutral cause of the rear end and yes only when force is applied

clutch chatter is a shaking(chattering) as the clutch is engaged, comes from heat spots etc in flywheel
Clutch chatter can stem from other problems as well, its not just neccisarly the flywheel.

Clutch chatter normaly only happens during engagement of the pressure plate and clutch disc. If the rattling or vibration happens after engagement, then i dont think its the clutch... unless your diaphram is weak and isnt holding the pressure evenly on the disc. Could also be a damaged flywheel.
