i got my block back from being bored and im looking for new pistons but the ones i find are floating wrist pins. I'm getting the trickflow engine kit and im reusing the crank and the rods. my stock old pistons are still on the rod and i sure the wrist pin is .912 but not completely sure. Can i use my old rod with the new floating piston?
That's the same piston but I'm going to get it off of summit.. I know I need a piston for the head clearance but can I use a floating piston on my old press fit rod. They have both the same size wrist pins
Those are different. The one you posted looks like it's for an inline valve head. The one horsepowerjunkie posted is for a Twisted Wedge head. If you use pistons with inline valve reliefs you may end up with PTV issues depending on what cam you use.
They say there made for the tw heads but ok say I do get the other ones how will it work with my old rods sence my rods were press and the piston is floating... Or will I not have a problem.
I couldn't answer that and be certain. I was under the impression that you couldn't do it that way because of lack of pin oiling, but I could be wrong.
