Light didnt come on bc you dont have a coolant level sensor. When you checked your own/checked the fluids was your oil way over full by chance? Theres a few things it could be. To name a few.

Cracked intake manifold
Intake manifold gaket(s)
Head gasket(s)
radiator
radiator hose(s)
thermostat gasket
