Custom Widening of Rims?

1846 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Jazzer The Cat
Anyone have any expierience with this?
I've like my '99 cobra wheels and they are 17X8's.
I'd like to widen the back ones to 9" to fit a Drag Radial.
I'm figuring they should still fit on the inside and not get into backspace issues.

I know I could just get a different style in 17X10, but I'd like to know if it is possible and how much$$ to work with the set I have. They're not 'quite' as common as the Bullits, GT500, etc..

Anyone know where to even start looking for a place to do something like this?

Reps (like you need them..)
good thread. ive always considered having my polished 99 cobras widened.......hmmm
I wonder if I can widen my 315s to 375s...

Probably not.
Papasmurf-
Looks like you, me and lefty has the same wheels.
I guess the thing to figure out now is to go 9" or 10".
Weldcraft site says they can adjust some backspacing, but I'll have to dig deeper to find out if 10" will work...

I don't have em' anymore. They're sitting in my basement right now ;)
My turnaround time was somewhere inside of 3 weeks. I did a LOT of research and Weldcraft was the ONLY place to even consider. If they are in your town, double bonus points for sure :yes

Jazzer :)

PS. Thanks for the reps
