Howdy MM

I was hoping to start a thread to ask questions and get information for making my own, simple, air-to-water intercooler system for the 03 GT with a V-1 Vortech setup.

I'm trying to avoid going to a blow-thru setup for the simplicity of the entire project.

Parts:

Vortech powercooler unit
water pump
heat exchanger
Tank
lines/wires/etc

I was hoping to find a Powercooler unit either new or used, then use my own tank, pump and heat exchanger. I was thinking I could use a 03/04 cobra bosch pump and heat exchanger, and perhaps save a few dollars picking up somethings like the exchanger used. I just haven't found a good Powercooler unit alone for sale yet.

What do you guys think?

Oh yea, buying it all together would be good. I was thinking the larger cobra heat exchanger would be better than the smaller one Vortech supplies, but I've honestly not paid attention to the dimensions of the Vortech unit...I'll check into that.

I'm looking into how many gpm I would need from a pump to make this work well, and if more gpm is necessarily better in this case.

I just looked through some emails between tuner and myself, and I said 14* in one email, but like I said, I need lots more. I too run the meth/water injection.

I love the Snow kit, but I always wanted some constant cooling, like with a air-to-water setup.

you should be seeing way more then 14*, my tuner set my newest tune to 11.2 with 15* and i was pissed, so, what i did was turned up the timming at the track and subtracted 2% fuel and ended up cutting 2/10s off of my best run(from an 8.3 to 8.1), do you have a wide band? If its that low, i would be really pissed, you can run way more timming then 14* especially with meth...

Yea, I was a noob at the time, but now upon review and I am a little disturbed. What I don't get it I see around 11:1 on the innovate WB, but the graph obviously shows 11.5, which should be spot on. So idk if my WB is off or what, and I did calibrate it.

He said in an email that he added timing and it wasn't "responding" much and stopped there. The tuner is very well know so I am not worried about lack of experience, but I do not know why the timing is so low compared to others.
The graph looks about right on the curve though, would you agree?

the altitude will mess with the a/f ratio, i was set up with 11.2 a/f but i always see 10.9 11.0 at the track, but what makes it rich is the meth too, which is a fuel of course. it seems to me that tuning with meth, the tuners are really unsure of how to set of the tune for meth so they always go concervative with it, adding timming will always add power unless you start pinging which if that happens, just add a bit of fuel to help the timming....
