I've never had a dyno before so maybe you guys that have can give me some info. I called a shop to see what they charge for a dyno and told me $90. He said its only a base line. What does that mean? What you guys think of the price? Thanks

sounds a bit pricey..

check your loacl forums for "dyno days"
they drop the price to around $40-50 for 3 pulls.
k. what does base line mean. its it only 1 pull or 3 like mentioned above
base line means no tuning.

it's just to get a rwhp printout.
i had 2 pulls w/ a/f for $60, on a dyno day w/out the a/f was $50. w/ tuning is a lot more.
i pay 65.. maybe a beer or two.. all day
It cost me $75 for 3 pulls and he was a nice guy and actually tried some adjustments and did 2 more for free.
see most people arent straight up asses about paying for their time
cost me $100 for 3 pulls with a/f. and i drive an hour and a half to get it done.

got my reasons though.

yea that sounds like a deal to me too... yall run a o2 on each bank 07stang? or just one... im leary of using one side of the motor
do you actually see a variance?
$135 with a/f and custom tune, no specific number of pulls. Just keep going 'tilll he gets all he can out safely. Never let me down.

135 with tune? thats a steal man.

Oh, i dont do it, i take it to pa. thats why i said i drive an hour.
That is some good prices, the last tune on my car a week ago set me back $1200. That is the most I have ever been charged anywhere and I had a Z28 before and went through 3 different motors and tunes and didn't cost that much.

OK, let me clarify that a little bit. the first time I took it in for tuning at that shop, it was $450 for dyno+custom tuning. The deal is that from now on every time I need to get a retune/pull it's $135. That sound better?:D
Now that sounds a bit pricey...2 pulls,just to check Rwhp,and Torq....$40...

Baseline runs are generally between 40 and 80 bucks depending on the shop. Sometimes they wanna pay that 45,000.00 dyno off real quick, so you take it in the back side.

Custom tuning through a reputable tuner whom you build a rapour with and actually become trust worthy of is priceless. It makes a long drive become reasonable and it makes the cost something not so worried about even when it exceeds 400 bones.

1st time customer custom tunes locally here are generally between 425 and 475 nearly everywhere. If you make changes and need a retune, it's common that that will be 175 to 200 as a repeat customer.

If my tuner charged me 300 a crack for retunes (he doesn't but if he did), I'd pay it, because the relationship is that trustworthy.
i would suggest taking that 100 dollars and going to a track instead unless getting tuned
