Which measurement was that pear? CO? Do you have cats? If not, you'll need them. If you have cats, high CO indicated that it is running rich. The overlap on those Hotrod cams does not help. You may have to have an emmisions tune made to lean it out.

Seabee, I dunno how they do it where you are, but there's pretty much noone to bribe to pass here. They scan your VIN and plate into the computer, then their OBD2 computer reads the VIN again off your PCM and checks monitor status.. All the guy at the lane does is push the button and give you the form when it prints, nothing anyone can do about it if your monitors aren't all passed.

That's kinda odd that they still do that useless idle sniff test up there. Really it would not take much for a tuner to make you a tune that will reduce the CO enough at idle. Those idle tests don't really proove anything, and you can probably make a lawnmower pass if you try.

A quote for having an aftermarket part removed is enough to qualify for that? Around here it has to be an actual repair, like for a problem with the car.
