So after looking for 2 weeks and posting a few things on here i have almost all the answeres to my build. Can do this cheaper then the mmr shortblock.

Plan on getting manly pistons
mmr rods
bearing kit
cms 2.5 cams
p&p heads
keeping the crank stock i hear it can handle 600hp

Then after do the engine the supercharger will be put on.

my questions are
What cc dish should i geton the pistons im so confused on that. I dont know what cc to use for this setup and what the differences are...

any help would be apreciated and also where is a good place to find these parts for cheap?

how many pounds of boost are you planinng on running through it.. and with the stock head an 18cc dish will give you 9.6:1 which is the stock compression. i chose to go with a 19cc dish which gave me around 9.1:1

18cc gives you 9.4:1 CR. A 16cc dish gives you a 9.6:1 CR. BTW, stock CR is 9.4:1

EDIT: 99-00 was a 9.0:1 CR, and in 2001 the GT was bumped up to a 9.4:1 CR

18cc gives you 9.4:1 CR. A 16cc dish gives you a 9.6:1 CR. BTW, stock CR is 9.4:1

diamond racing told me 19cc dish would be 9.1:1 and the 18cc would be would be stock 9.6:1.. i dunno whos right now :(

PI 2V cylinder head on 4.6 :

Flatop= 12.9 to 1 -11cc=11 to 1 -18cc=9.5 to 1 -23cc=8.9 to 1

PI 2V cylinder head on 5.4 :

Flatop= 11.0 to 1 -11cc=9.6 to 1 -18cc=8.9 to 1 -23cc=8.4 to 1

ALL 4V cylinder heads on 4.6

Flatop= 10.5 to 1 -11cc=9.1 to 1 -18cc=8.5 to 1 -23cc=8.0 to 1

ALL 4V cylinder heads on 5.4

Flatop= 9.5 to 1 -11cc=8.5 to 1 -18cc=8.0 to 1

All 3 Valve Cylinder heads 4.6

Flatop= 10.5 to 1 -6.5cc=9.8 to 1 -11cc=9.1 to 1 -14cc=8.75 to 1 -18cc=8.5 to 1 -23cc=8.0 to 1

ALL 3 Valve Cylinder heads on 5.4

Flatop= 9.5 to 1 -6.5cc=9.0 to 1 -11cc=8.5 to 1 -14cc=8.25 to 1 -18cc=8.0 to 1

this is what mmr has... meh..
It also depends on the gaskets too (not a huge difference). However, being one cc off seems to drop it down by .1 in the CR. If you look at any CR calculator online, you will find how to calculate it. From a Manley 18cc, I was getting 9.43:1 and just by going to a 19cc, it went down to a 9.31:1 CR.

hmm wierd.. why did diamond tell me different?
Idk. I think the only way to truly know is to find the formula for CR and do it by yourself. That's what I think will give you the most accurate results.

43.730 + 0.188 + 0.275 + 0.478 + 4.638 divided by 0.188 + 0.275 + 0.478 + 4.638 =8.84:1

The only thing I get confused on is the deck height clearance on our cars. The only place I could find info on this was the Sean Hyland book, and that was a 0.008" Deck Height. This sound right?

ok confused i just need a simple answer on go with this cc it will work for your set up. with the engine built like i stated up top i want to run 500 rwhp wich cc do you use for this? after the engine build ill tune the supercharger to reach 500rwhp

very nasty piston too... its about 800$ for the set though..
Ya that's insane. Just saw on MMR they are $699.99, but after taxes (at least for CA residents), and shipping, that would put it at the $800 mark :(

id say its worth it.. ralp at powerheads racing was talking to me about them and he pulled some diamonds out of the box and pulled a probe piston out of the box and was showing me the differences. he said the probe is good for about 600+hp and the diamonds can easily get you to 1000hp
