I bought what I believe to be a Mach 1 engine out of an 03. Can anyone tell me where there is a vin on the block so I can make sure it is and not an aviator motor or something.

They don't stamp vin numbers on engine blocks man, just casting numbers. You can probably find it under the first freeze plug on the drivers side.

Anyway, you'll be able to tell by the intake manifold

There really isn't much different from the Mach engine to the Aviator or Marauder for that matter. The only real difference to the longblock is that 5spd Mach 1s had a forged crank (8 bolt) and auto Machs had a cast one (6 bolt) which is the same as an Aviator.

What does the intake manifold look like?

Overall if it's got C heads (big oval intake runner ports), and an 8 bolt crank I'd be happy. Only way I might be disappointed is if it had B heads (two runner ports per cylinder, one square one circle).
