I recently installed a used '98 3.8 (with new head gaskets and machined stock heads and new crank bearings and a miled Comp camshaft). When I put it back together I used the flexplate that was originally in the car. Should I have used the one off the back of the '98 engine I'm currently using?

Were the flexplates different between the two engines? Unless they are somehow indexed to the crankshaft for balance I wouldn't think it would matter.
