My wife's focus is a 2005, automatic with roughly 65,000 miles. Went to start it this afternoon and it wouldn't start. The starter didn't sound normal, sounded almost bogged down. Had to give it full throttle and it started. After starting it puffed a huge amount of white smoke but idled fine. After running for about a minute the white smoke stopped. Revved the motor and it revved fine but would puff a little bit of white smoke with each rev.
I checked the oil level and it was fine, coolant was a little low but nothing major. Since this is my wife's car, I couldn't tell you if the white smoke is new or not. I know she wouldn't pay attention to that.
Any ideas on what to look for?
