i posted a couple days ago about my car smoking when i hammer on it and ive been hearing from a number of people that my piston rings could be fried... now what? this sucks guys lol.
Do a compression check on each cylinder. First do it dry, then squirt a teaspoonful of oil through the plug hole and repeat the test. If the "wet" compression numbers are significantly higher than the "dry" compression numbers, that'll definitely point to ring/bore wear.
