Yeah, I used some muscle and disconnected it :)
put the tool inside the flange, push the 2 lines together, push the tool all the way in and you should feel it click, then pull the lines apart while tool is still pushed all the way in...
skurred you little weaklings.

No but really that's probably bad, it was loose as hell if you did it bare handed. But as far as the tool, once you bury THE CORRECT SIZE disconnect in the line THE PROPER WAY, it should come rather easily, pull each end apart as you push the tool in. Wear proper eye and hand protection as well, you don't want fuel in your pupils. I bought a 5 piece kit and it had the right size, I'm thinking since you only got a 3 piece it just might not have the correct size disconnect.
i have the 5 piece kit and 2 metal tools. so all together i should have 3 that are the right size. problem is, no matter what i've done it doesn't come apart...i'm freaking stumped! like i said earlier, this ain't my first rodeo with fuel lines. it is my first time feeling like i'm just not gonna win. lol i mean, it's only 3 or 4 little tabs that i'm fighting here, right?
Finally!!

I GOT IT! well, i got the one on the fuel filter side. next question...what is the proper way to remove the hoses from the right top of the tank...not the ones at the filler neck but on the actual top of the tank. just don't want to tear anything up any worse than i already have...
