Gauge bezel removal

2058 Views 12 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  RBartosek
I've been wanting to buy the chrome gauge rings for quite some time now, Mustang Chrome Gauge Bezels, Gauge Rings (94-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!. Does anyone know how hard it is and what the right way to go about removing the gauge cluster is? I've done this once before but this was to replace a bulb back when I had my bronco. If anyone's taken their cluster out for any reason and has pictures along with directions, that would be great. I'm just scared to break something cause I get frustrated easily

its fairly easy.
there are 2 bolts on top of the cluster bezel that you need to remove then you have to take off the light knob. after that there are 4 screws (torx bits / or you can use a standard socket) then the bezel comes out.
Thanks for the input, stupid post, didn't see that AM provides directions :lol
easy as pie. i have done it a few times when changing out my gauges.
:withhomo

Just don't break the tabs or anything...
its easy, take your time and dont drop the torx screws when you take them out. it'd be a good time to do a white gauge overlay as well if youre doing the rings. good luck :)
I can't find white gauges that I like! I have been wanting to go white for a long time but they are all either that indiglo crap or after market stuff like simco.
I mean the cobra gauges aren't bad but I don't even know where to find those. I have seen white GT gauges, by GT I mean the same redline and 150mph speedo. I don't know where people have found them but if anyone knows what I'm talking about please chime in cause it would match my white hurst shift knob beautifully.
yeah, I have the white gauges where it lights up blue at night and the redline is at 6500 rather than 6000. I like them though. The selection for aftermarket gauges for our cars isn't huge but they're fairly inexpensive.
caribbeancustomdesigns.com thats where i got mine the guy pretty much will do what ever you want. Thats what i wanted was the stock look but white with out the reverse glow. And those rings i got those too, pretty cool except two of the rings would not "snap" on, i just glued them on carefully.
