Right now I have Falken tire. 245-40-18 in the front, 275-35-18 in the back. When I get new tires very, very soon, I'm getting 285-40-18 in the back. (Nitto 555 Ex. for 191$ a piece) And In the front I'm gunna get 255's because my tires in the front right now look like there almost too small for the rim. It's like, the opposite of what it looks like when you have shoulder roll. What would be a good tire size for the front... I don't want anymore than 255's though... And I need a size nitto has.. 255-40-18 or 255-45-18 and 285-40 in the back.

man i know you said you dont want a wider tire than 255 in the front but i LOVE the way my car sits when the the tires are kinda turned out abit and they stick out..mmmmm i have 275's on the front and i dont think i would ever go slimer.

are you asking about the sidewall or the width tho?

I want 255's so they'll fill up more of the rim, but I don't know if I want 255-40 or -45

And will 285-40's look good in the back??

285 will look good in the back..cobras have 275 all around i think it looks aight...(could be wider but thats just me).

Dont know that much about the front somethign about how the second number is a ratio to the width and not the acuatal hieght of the side. it was on here a couple weeks ago.

But i bought lowering springs to help reduce my weel whell gap..ever consider that?

i know what you mean about those 245s, they are too small for the rim. I would keep it simple man, run those 255s on the front. I have the BF Goodrich KDWs on the front and they handle awesome in the rain and stick into turns fairly well. Not to mention they last a while too. I'm pretty sure that you can't go any larger than 275s on stock wheels. I've been told that these are some good affordable tires for a car like ours

i know i have 9" wide rims and my tire guy told me 275s were choice. Thats all i was getting at. I'm no tire specialist, But i know the guy and i trust him. I was just tryin to pass on the advice but you don't have regular mustang rims so my bad . :/

Ya, I do know 285's will fit on a 9" rim though, with a little bit of roll. So i'll be fine... I just hope the front 255-40 will look good, along with the 285-40 in the back, most people get 285-35 but I need a lil more cushion... I'm tired of feeling like im riding on wagon wheels. l0l

yeah, i'll agree there too, I'm not a big fan of those lower profile tires. And i think 255/40s look great for front tires. My KDWs will vouch for that.

Ya, I just never see 285-40's, I guess people always want -35- in the back... but ya, hopefully it will look good. with a softer ride

with nice ass rims like that i'd use that as another reason to keep a bit larger of a sidewall.

Me personally, the sidewall hight doesn't bother me at all. I think 40's n the front and back will look good.
