I am planing on doing some serious modification to my car. I like to plan everything out and come up with a price that i can work towards. The problem that I am running into is dealing with the transmission. I love the fact that I have six gears and want to know if it would be a good idea and if it was even possible to swap the transmission from the 2013 GT500 and put it in the 2011+ 5.0? What power level can the stock transmission handle (5.0 and gt500) and what are people doing to handle large amounts of HP (for their 5.0) ? What about the rear end (5.0)?

I have looked up the different style of force inducting methods and decided centrifugal is the route I would like to take. From what i have read, it is the coolest, most reliable and less stressful on the motor from all the other styles. I have also read twin screw supercharger dont really like methanol (tend to lose power). Turbos get hot, are diffculte to tune, and alot can go wrong if a leak is in the exaust. (guessing manifold?).

I would like to hear other member opinion on this matter.

Thank you
Earl Yoshihiro (correct rule/law)

Why not do the T56 Magnum XL swap? There's already a kit out there and it'd prob be a lot cheaper.

jdos1 Thank you so much. What if I want to make over 700 ft lbs? I dont want to have to buy something later on down the road. I already have 47lb injectors and decided not to go my orgional route. Now I am stuck with them. :/

Idk where my mind was, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the T56 Magnum is the TR6060, same thing that's in the '13 GT500.

At the moment nothing is coming to mind that can handle 1000 ft/lb....being severely sleep deprived isn't helping either. Someone will chime in with a suggestion.

jdos1 Again, thank you very much! from my understanding they get the 2013+ gt500 up to 1000 crank HP with warrenty right? So that transmission should be a one time buy?

800-1050 I want a built engine that I can DD if I want to on 20-25 lbs of boost running E85 with a Paxton or Vortec or Procharger FI system. What are some decent roll cages?

God damn! That's some big power for a DD... I hope to see you achieve it!

And I think Jdos1 is right.. Isn't the T56 the same as the TR6060?

I have a 2012 Mustang GT and swapped out the MT-82 for a 2012 GT 500 transmission (6060). I'm making 750rwhp. The change from the MT82 to the Tremec is night and day.

The T-56 is rated slightly higher than the 6060 both will handle just about anything you can throw at them. Everything will break sooner or later. I have the 6060 from 2010 in my car with my custom shifter it is the bees knees.

I've been doing alot of research and to my understanding, it isnt farfetch to DD on the 5.0 motor making that power level. Are not there people making this kind of power? I have heard of people breaking rear end and transmission. I plan on giving special attention to those areas but when it comes to suspension, body twist, and trying to control the heat so the motor doesnt melt; i am still in a dilemma. I will pm those members to see what they are doing to solve their issue. What set up are they running and what power are they making. I would like to know what internals they went with and where did they purchase them.

I have had my eyes set on this one

Problem is Beefcake is running an auto. He may have some insight to a high horsepower stick car as he owns a Boss as well. The Boss is not at the 1000 hp mark yet, I don't think.
