Is it silly? Yes. Would any average person want the chance to score $13 million? Yes. So it's not as stupid as one might think.

Pretty much. Our civil court system is broken as **** but... it is what it is. Hopefully the guy spends it wisely. I think an obligatory $1 mil to charity should at least be in order... *sends telepathic messages*

I also have a feeling that $13 million is pennies in a barrel to the total profit made off those gives-you-wings advertisements.

You would need a lot of barrels. That's 1,300,000,000 pennies

It IS as stupid as I think. Where I come from, we work for money and don't go around seeking stupid technicalities to exploit to make a buck we didn't earn.

Who wouldn't want $13 million? I'd take it. I would expect the judicial system to not be stupid enough to give a guy millions in a settlement, for being a smartass.

If I were the judge, I probably would've had the "Did you really think you would've grown wings from a drink? No. Quit wasting my time, get the **** out of my court room" thing going on. That's just me though...

You say that as if every person in the United States has morals and a work ethic, which is the case here right? Wrong.

As the saying goes, if it seems stupid but it works, then it's not stupid.:baller:

This article doesn't highlight it well, but obviously the guy didn't expect the drink to give him wings. The lawsuit is more over the company's claim of it being an energy drink, and that the man suing said that over the years of drinking red bull, he never once experienced any spike in athletic ability or energy.

Still stupid? Yes. As stupid as actually expecting it to give him wings? I think not.

You know it's stupid.

I drink a lot of RedBull, probably 1 per day, but I won't be cashing in on this. I don't want to feel grouped into those people who have been "duped" for not getting wings after drinking an energy drink.

I knew what I was buying, therefore I won't be taking their money.

Even this doesn't make any sense.. His body doesn't react to energy drinks but millions of others do? So now the company is facing a lawsuit..

I said it was still stupid. I just think it's stupider that some articles are wanting to just say "Man sues because Redbull doesn't give him wings". Couple that with people who only read headlines and you have a spew of misinformation.

This has RATFUCK to do with regular people getting money, class action lawsuits almost never give the person filing the suit much money at all. The only people who come out ahead are the lawyers who probably encouraged the **** out of the suit.

Out of a $13MM settlment, the lawyers are probably getting $5-6MM.

Nope, it's still stupid. Straight up 100% retarded as ****. I personally hope he gets run over by a truck hauling propane that then flips and explodes right before a meteor slams the earth on that exact spot. May the sorry piece of **** who decided to exploit a broken civil court system to victimize a company that did nothing wrong... may he rot in hell. He is a lowlife scum using a technicality to get something for nothing.

It is what it is though. Frivolous lawsuits like this will continue to happen and there really isn't anything we can do about it without violating someone's constitutional rights. It's just something we have to live with.
