I have a 2000 Ford mustang with the 3.8v6 I'm not sure what transmission I have but some times when I go to accelerate to pass a vehicle it acts like the transmission is slipping but there's times that it will accelerate and pass vehicles with no problem is there a additive I can add to help it

Your transmission fluid might be 30 years old :(. I would have it changed. A lot of the quickie lube places will say they flushed your transmission and not do anything but charge you :(. I took my 2011 to my local Ford dealer and they charged me right at $200 for the screen filter change and flush. This was a few years ago so it might cost more now...
