Wait a sec. I really apologize for kinda thread jackin here but, I was researching about the KB 2.1L and I was told that kit comes with a tune that should be good enough and "LEFTY" just said I would need a dyno tune for any power adders?? I am super confused!
The tune that KB provides is great for the stock aplication. However, once you add more mods such as cams or if you went as far as a forged block with a dif comp ratio, you will definantly need a dyno tune. Kb tune is a base for those on stock block running 6-9 PSI. There is a lot of room to grow with the KB

I mean sure; you can put an e-mailed tune on a car with a power adder. But I can guarantee you won't make it very long. By long I mean a few hours/days. ;)

Tuner's don't have enough data to play with to change the air/fuel ratio around with just an e-mail/canned tune.
Sorry lefty but I do not agree here. There are plenty of guys running around on email tunes for blowers. My room mate is one of them, and Joe will probably be tuning my car when I up the boost. Some tuners even recommend email tunes for drive ability reasons.

Well I guess it's cuz I live so close to SGS Automotive and their dyno :lol

I'm not saying I'm right or wrong; I just know a couple of my buddies who have hard terrible luck w/ e-mailed tunes and have resorted to dyno for any sort of power adder. I guess it just all depends on the tuner's ability.

Exactly, like stated earlier, a wideband is a must. And when dealing with email tunes for blowers you have to be smart who you let tune it.
