wondering if downstream o2 senors have any sort of affect on fuel deliver/spark strategy. if they are failing what is the effects other than a possible dtc.

I believe the downstream O2s simply monitor the rear cats. If the O2s are shitting out on you, get some MILs and cut those cats off.

Downstream HOS's are there to monitor catalyst efficiency. The computer compares their reading to the upstream sensor to ensure that any excess fuel is getting oxidized. Their primary purpose is not for fuel management.

Their failure will likely only result in a CEL.
