Hay I finnally got my car back on the road since Thanksgiving I thought I blew a head gasket until I took it apart ,Only to findthe No.1 cyl. cracked and pieces of the piston in the oil pan ,So here is my 89 hatch 5spd. so far the rebuild consisted of 30 over pistons, head shaved ,6 angle valve job, roller cam swap, cai, headman long tube header ,i wish i could have done alot more performance wise but with christmas and house taxes and 2 kids and it being my daily driver i had to get it done i still have a turbo motor and 2 more n/a motors in the shop so maybe when the stars align i'll have a fast mustang once more this is my 4th mustang.I've had 2 85 GT's ,1 86 GT, and now my 89 2.3 .Enjoy! Eric

um no i didnt take pictures of the process, but maybe this one will help View attachment 13749

(blue)-ok you start off by taking off the top of the airbox (4 bolts), and disconnect the two hoses.

(red)-Then you disconnect the hose at the throttle body by loosening the clamp, then remove the whole piece. make sure you use a clean rag to put in the throttle body so nothing gets in it.

(green)-then you take out the air filter, and unbolt the bottom of the airbox.

(orange)-then you have to get the bottom airbox out. its connected to a plastic piece that runs beside the radiator.just try to pull the front piece forwards and the bottom airbox back torwards the firewall. take those both out.

(yellow)-also theres a hose runnung to the airbox from the exhaust, i have no idea why, but it just pulls off the lower airboer and then you can take off the heatshield if you likee from the exhaust by removing the (i think 3 or 4) bolts.

(white)-ok now there should be just the bracket and the one remaining hose. plug this hose somehow and then if you want the bracket unbolts and comes out

ok so then it should look like this- View attachment 13750

then just put on your new intake and enjoy

oh and if you have any questions feel free to ask

why thanks eric
youre gonna make me blush haha
and for 91, the intake you bought may have an adaptor for the MAF or youre going to have to buy an adaptor to keep it on your intake
