No, your looking in the wrong place. These buttons controll the menu ( which is located where the miles till empty and what not are shown ).

thats only on MyColor equipped cars with the 6-gauge cluster... he has no MyColor, only 4 gauges, and no info center... your best bet, like I said would be to get a Canadian gauge cluster that is already in km/h and has MyColor, an info center, and all that good stuff.
