Doing a full rear end rebuild/upgrade on my 03 GT and I'd like to do gears while I'm in there, but one of the things holding me back is speeding hundreds of dollars on handheld tuner just to fix the speedometer. There are several OBD devices out there that can "modify" aspects of an ECU's at a fraction of the price so I'm just curios if anyone has discovered a less expensive alternative to a tuner or shop.

Long time no see, you’re best bet is to pony up for the tuner since you’ll need it in the future anyway.

Yeah, I've been missing this place. My car has been on the back burner for the last couple years with buying/remodeling a house, having a kid, helping a friend with his 03 GT (that he bought because of mine ) and this pandemic, but I am looking forward to this rear end rebuild as the ol' girl has needed it for awhile. I guess I'll add $500 to my budget.
