Why does this say "you may need an electric water pump? Im not sure why as long as they are not touching? :dunno Looking at getting one of these.

I would have to pop the hood and look but I suspect that the oversize crank pulley interferres with the stock water pump pulley. Notice that they say the Meziere water pump with the smaller idler pulley.
$475 bucks!!!!!! you can buy a whole nitrous kit to make up for the amount of power you would gain from that pulley, and you could adjust the power you make. and it will create more torque. lol... i didnt know those things were so expensive
&475 fot the pulley, $450 for the Mezeire electric water pump, so you're looking at $1000 for about 20 or so HP.

Just spend the $450 on the Mezeire electric water pump, they say that will give you 15 HP.

Not everyone wants to throw a bottle or a supercharger on their car. It's more challenging to see what kind of horsepower you can get with just an N/A motor.

i have been down that road. not gonna do much better than a high 11 with a n/a 4.6 and its gonna cost you twice as much as it would to be that fast with a power adder.
Ummm... who the hell would buy a new one? You get them used for alot less. The reason for them is to eliminate having to downsize your blower pulley therefore potentially creating slip. Naw dont think i wanna run nitrous through it with the blower. Im sure some do it, im just not going to.

That pulley is to overdrive the supercharger and create more boost, def more than 20 hp there.

Are you gettin a 6 or 8 rib? Believe you can run a 8 rib pulley with a 6 rib belt, that way your setup for the upgrade later. Thats what Id do
mine will be 6rib for now but run the 8 rib od pulley. I figure that 18%od pulley with my 2.80 RR non slip pulley on my P1 should be pretty descent. Still thinking about trying out that stage 3 impeller from superchargerrebuilds.com
To answer my question ( just called)......... The 18% usually requires an electric water pump but one way to be sure is to measure from the Center of the crank pulley bolt up. The 18% OD pulley is i 4.1 inches from the center of the bolt. He said if it doesnt hit the water pump pulley then your good. He said that if you can get 4.25 from center of bolt to water pump pulley then you'll be aight without the electric water pump.
Thats what I ment, dont have to change the pulley later. How much boost is the 18% overdrive good for? IIRC the 10% is like 2-3 psi?

Depending on how much room is there, you may be able to machine the lip on the water pump pulley to clear it. would cost less than a electric water pump.

Don’t confuse overdrive pulleys with underdrive pulleys. An overdrive pulley is for supercharged cars. Supercharged cars are not N/A. There are two ways to spin a supercharger faster creating more boost: a smaller supercharger pulley or an overdrive crank pulley. The problem with very small supercharger pulleys is that you end up with belt slippage. Overdrive pulleys are usually only added after the smallest supercharger has already been installed. With the other supporting mods that it takes to get to high 500 to low 600 rwhp it will definitely generate more horsepower than a $400 nitrous kit.

Baker, are you still running a P-1SC? With that small of a supercharger pulley and an 18% overdrive pulley won’t you be spinning it a little fast?
yeah but oh well. LOL... Im trying to find a d1 headunit or i might go with the stage 3 impeller from superchargerrebuilds.com.
I really am guessing here. A 3.0" supercharger pulley should get you about 16 psi with a stock crank pulley. If I remember correctly you got a 2.8" non-slip so that should take you to 18 psi. The overdrive pulley will probably take you above 22 psi if the P-1SC holds together (But how long?). A D-1 with the same set up might get you around 26+ psi. Can your fuel system deliver that much fuel?
im running cobra setup. want to get a 40 amp BAP. Boost is measured by resistance so my boost numbers wont be that high. My air flow is opened up descently. my 3.20 pulley is only getting me about 10 pounds put i think its because of my bypass. My stock wore out heads start floating the valves at about 5700 rpms. Stock springs are wore out bad! So when the build is done, i think ill be sitting nice. I just got my rotating assembly in yesterday so im ready to do the damn thing. I think with the 2.8 pulley ill see about 15 pounds from the d1. Now if i go with that stage 3 impeller i would think it would be more around 18 or 19. I really think my cheap 1995 bypass is give out!
OK. I can hardly wait to see how this all turns out.
yeah me too. LOL
