Starting to install the Comp Cams Stage II thumpers tonight, just wondering what directions everyone has used when doing them yourself. I'm just using the hot rod cam install procedure is that correct? I'm also installing the lockouts and found the write up for this also. Also is there any break in time after they are installed before you start rippin on it. May take to drag strip this weekend if it all works out.

When I installed my cams I used the write-up that 07Stroker did for a colored picture reference. I used the Taco-bill write-up to remove the cam covers. But most importantly I used the Ford service manual to install them. Just make sure to read everything until you feel comfortable. It may look intimitading but its not that bad. I have never tore into an engine before until I did my cams and I've gone 1yr now with no problems. I can't give you the link for the Ford service manual due to being at work. One thing I did differently from 07Stroker was that I only removed the 3 cam followers stated by the Ford manual. 07Stroker removed all of his. Its up to you on what you want to do

I did a 50 mile break in then gave it hell. Just drove on the highway for awhile then romped on it. I don't think it should take a day or 2.

Yeah, just make sure to coat the journals, caps, cam lobes and bolts with motor oil and let her rip.
