So ****! I just got "everything" fixed or so I thought. I had to replace all cops, plugs, EVR, and fixed my exhaust leak. After I changed the X-pipe and fixed my exhaust leak I got a SES light that has since gone away on its own. Not sure what that's about and I didn't get it checked so now I'll have to go to a dealership to diagnose it.

Anyways I just drove to Kragen for some new brake pads and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot I started hearing a ticking sound at idle. it gets faster with higher rpms but seems to quiet down. It sounds like its coming from my passenger side head. haven't taken a hose to it yet but It sounds like its further back on the head near the throttle body. But it wasn't there at all yesterday and now its loud enough to hear over my exhaust from inside the car. it just literally started out of no where. I'm going to run some fuel cleaner to see if maybe its an injector (had similar issues w/ my 240). If its the timing chain though how rough is that to repair? I will try to get a sound byte of it but I don't really have anything but my iphone to use so we will see.

Ya I'm pretty sure I fixed it, it just sounds as if its one component out of 4 ya know. like my exhaust leak wasn't a constant tick it would change with rpms, engine braking, amount of throttle, etc.

This is just like a constant unchanging tick at idle and increases proportionally to rpm. it sounds valvetrain related to me but my 240 had a dirty injector that clicked so I'm hoping that its that!

Ya trust me I tightened the **** out of those bolts, I just fired it up and unplugged each COP one at a time and it didn't go away. I am going to try to unplug each injector to see if its one of them.

It's most noticable inside the car, when I put my ear in the engine bay its hard to distinguish but now sounds as if its coming from the intake runners, like in the middle somewhere.

Yes I agree that exhaust leaks are annoying as hell! I would park far away from everything so nobody could hear it! soooo embarrassing.

And as far as plugs being my problem I just changed them all with the COPS, (btw, gap is .050-.055).

So it has gotten louder in the last 8 hours. I can hear it all around the car so I'm really starting to think part of it is the exhaust but I can hear it in both exhaust tips, and it doesn't sound like the exhaust leaks that I've heard before. And I just got rid of one like 3 days ago... Tomorrow is a day off so I will be going through it all day.
