Does it sound anything like this:
I have stethoscoped it and found it to be loudest on the second valve cover bolt from the back of the engine. Funny thing is that I had this EXACT same knock in my 2V and never did find it. I am assuming that it's a lifter as I used a ****ing impact wrench on the exhaust pipe bolts.
